Konrad Hotzel was born in 1999 in Eisenach (Germany). After finishing his A – Levels in 2017 he started to study Chemistry at the Friedrich-Schiller-University in Jena. In 2020, he finished his Bachelor in the Peneva group on synthesis, reactivity and application of tetrabromo perylene monoimide – dyes. In February 2023, Konrad successfully defended his Master thesis on Dyedrogels - covalent deposition of perylene photocatalysts in hydrogels towards photocatalytic hydrogen evolution and continued with his PhD in March 2023.
